APIA Heritage Month, April 8-May 16

The Bruce Church Educational Foundation awards scholarships in the range of $500-$5,000 to deserving students who are interested in studying agriculture to prepare themselves for a career in agriculture. Applicants for scholarships should have at least a 2.5 grade point average, be committed to studying agriculture at the college level, and be actively involved in service to their schools and /or their communities. The scholarships are awarded on a year-by-year basis and re-application is necessary to receive the scholarship in each subsequent year of college-level education. Students who did not receive a scholarship in one year are also encouraged to re-apply the following year. “Studying agriculture” includes agricultural business, agronomy, horticulture, entomology, plant pathology, food science and safety and other academic disciplines reasonably related to a career in agriculture. The Foundation’s first priority will be students from the Salinas or Pajaro Valleys. Students who reside outside the Salinas or Pajaro Valleys may still apply, however, an award to such an applicant must be approved by a 2/3 vote of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
