The Financial Aid Office observes the following deadlines:

Add/Drop Deadline
Financial Aid will not be recalculated if a change in enrollment occurs after the Add/Drop deadline. The student is responsible for paying additionally assessed fees and/or any amount of ineligible Financial Aid as a result of decreased enrollment.

SAP Submission Deadline
Required documentation: SAP appeal, Progress Report,  ILP and/or a SAP workshop must be completed & submitted to the Financial Aid Office prior to the SAP deadline established for each term. A SAP workshop schedule and SAP deadline will be published on the Financial Aid Website under SAP Policy every semester. In addition, the SAP Workshop is designed to discuss in-depth SAP processes. Failure to meet the deadline will result in a denied appeal status and cancellation of pending FA Awards.

Consortium Agreement Deadline
Consortium Agreements will not be processed after the Add/Drop deadline. Completed documentation must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office prior to the add/drop deadline. Documents must be signed and dated by all adequate staff listed on the Consortium Agreement. All Consortium Agreements require a transcript of enrollment at host school.

R2T4 Census Date
In the case of students who completely withdraw from CSUMB, Federal regulations mandate that CSUMB adjust all unearned Financial Aid and return funds to the US Department of Education. Unearned Financial Aid will be calculated based on the return to Title IV (R2T4) formula establised by Federal Student Aid. The percentage of earned & unearned Financial Aid is calculated based on the percentage of enrollment completed by the student. The Financial Aid Office notifes students of their pending balance (if applicable) as a result of the R2T4 calculation via U.S. Postal Service.

Extension of Payment Deadline
Applying for Financial Aid does not guarantee an extension of housing, meal plan, or registration payment. To qualify for an extension of registration payment, students must accept their Federal Student Loan prior to July 31, 2012 if funds are needed to pay their 12/13 balance. Failure to meet the deadline can result in disenrollment from all courses by August 2, 2012. This fee payment extension expires and all outstanding charges are due when all financial aid awards are disbursed to your student account, but no later than the last day to add/drop. If university charges are outstanding after the last day to add/drop, late charges will be assessed and holds will be placed on your student record. Extension of tuition fee payment is not available for the Summer term

Document Deadline
To guarantee timely processing of all Financial Aid Verification, Student Income Change, and/or Budget Increase forms prior to the start of the Fall semester, we highly encourage students to meet the priority deadline established by the Financial Aid Office. This date is crucially important in guaranteeing  a complete Financial Aid Award for acceptance prior to the Payment Extension Deadline.
